What are fees spent on?
The answer is simple. The presence of the Cambridge Inspectors in France for training or liaison work is subsidized or paid for by the Association. This includes Cambridge Inspectors' consultancy fees, transport, accommodation and subsistence. Training teachers on examining procedures and standards does not involve only new colleagues. It is vital for quality assurance in the examination, and is therefore important for all OIB teachers. It can also be a source of professional development. The role played by the Cambridge inspectors in this work is a central one.
The Association does not, however, pay for costs incurred in the examining session in May/June. The Cambridge Board does not wish to use private finance to cover any aspect of examining. These costs are covered by the Board, drawing on the subsidy paid to them by the French Ministry of Education, via the DRIC.
